The Learning Garden is looking to hire a ECE STUDENT / CO-OP . In this role you will provide nurturing care and developmentally appropriate education to meet the needs of children in a group setting within a safe and healthy environment and in cooperation with parents, colleagues and community professionals. An emergent curriculum is one that builds upon the interests of the children. It is often spontaneous and responsive to their immediate interests; topics are driven by the ideas and questions from the children themselves Engage in caring, curious, and respectful interactions with children to support their growing relationships with themselves, each other, and the natural world Actively encourage and promote outdoor learning and play with the children Be committed to the welfare and development of all children, and be available for consultation, information, and resources for families and guardians Support Educators in their role in the classroom To Qualify For This Role: In the process of obtaining a degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Education, Recreation or Child and Youth diploma Looking for a CO-OP placement Clear Police Records check completed in last 6 months Current Standard First Aid and CPR Certification (Can be obtained before start date) Proven ability to work closely with other team members Sensitivity and respect for individual and cultural differences Adequate energy level and ability to meet the physical demands of the job We are an equal opportunity employer. While we are currently still under construction & renovation of the property, we are excited to share we have 85% of the work completed! We have lots of interactive projects coming to life at The Learning Garden that will engage our learners throughout the year. We truly appreciate the value that nature and outdoor play has on learning and growth and encourage it daily while incorporating it throughout out our day to day activities.
