GARDENING
Gardening is a wonderful way for children to connect with nature and learn about the environment. At The Learning Garden, we provide hands-on gardening experiences that teach children about plant life cycles, healthy eating habits, and sustainability.
MUSIC
Music is a powerful tool for communication and self-expression. Our music program at The Learning Garden encourages children to explore different musical instruments and genres, and to develop their creativity and confidence.
LANGUAGE ARTS
Language Arts is the foundation for all learning. Our language arts program at The Learning Garden focuses on developing strong reading and writing skills, as well as critical thinking and communication. The following languages are taught at the Learning Garden: English, French & Arabic
SCIENCE
Science is about exploring and discovering the world around us. Our science program at The Learning Garden provides hands-on experiments and activities that help children develop their curiosity and problem-solving skills. We translate our lessons into the real world to really solidify concepts taught in the class. . There are animals on site that are involved in the day to day life at The Learning Garden.
CREATIVE ARTS
Creative Arts is a way for children to express themselves and develop their imagination. Our creative arts program at The Learning Garden includes activities such as painting, drawing, and crafts, and encourages children to explore their creativity and develop their fine motor skills. A lot of nature. recycling, repurposing is involved in our art projects, teaching valuable life lessons about the importance of care for our environment while also expanding creative minds.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
Physical activity is important for children's health and well-being. Our physical activity program at The Learning Garden includes activities such as yoga, dance, and outdoor play, and encourages children to develop their gross motor skills and self-confidence. Our Outdoor facility has been design with great thought and care to encourage discovery of nature and pushing boundaries of growth and exploration.
LIFE SKILLS
We recognize the truly value of learning survival & life skills that will be essential to the growth of our learners as they enter the real world. We teach lessons such as: Outdoor Safety, Water Safety, Survival Skills. We also incorporate Life Skills in our every day, by involving the children in the care for their environment and others at The Learning Garden. Each child has a valuable role at the Centre, which makes them feel valued and an important member of our community. They also learn important life skills such as teamwork, cooperation & compromise.
FINANCIAL LITERACY
Financial literacy is essential to life. When taught at a young age, this helps expand children's minds and encourages good decision making skills. The value of money is encouraged through a program that we incorporate throughout the year where all children have a "load card" that they earn "money" through their hard work and positive actions. They then have the opportunity to "buy" different things throughout the year such as "free time", snack, toys, etc. This implementation of financial literacy helps to solidify the concept and value of hard work and reward.
TARBIYAH
(ISLAMIC STUDIES)
At The Learning Garden, Islamic Studies are at the heart of our daily learning, where children are taught the Sunnah of the Prophet ï·º through practical lessons in manners, cleanliness, respect, and love for Islam and all of creation. We seamlessly integrate Islamic values across core subjects, ensuring that every lesson reflects the beauty and guidance of our faith. Our science curriculum, in particular, is taught through an Islamic lens, helping students recognize Allah's signs in the natural world and fostering a sense of gratitude and wonder.
QURAN STUDIES
At The Learning Garden, every learner embarks on a journey of Qur'an memorization through age-appropriate, engaging methods that nurture a love for Allah’s words. Our Qur'an program incorporates storytelling, Nooraniya, and Bayaniya techniques, making memorization meaningful and enjoyable for young hearts. Children are guided to recite with correct Tajweed while developing a deep understanding of the Qur'anic messages in a nurturing Islamic environment. Through interactive lessons, visual aids, and practical examples, learners connect with the Qur'an in ways that inspire reflection and application in their daily lives.
